The 2015 season was a disaster for the UCF Knights, as they finished 0-12 and head coach, George O'Leary resigned after just eight games. In December, the school announced the hiring of Scott Frost, a "winner" according to athletic director Danny White. Frost's debut season was a success, and fans were excited to see the Knights back on track. Then the perfect season of 2017 happened, a full on 12 and 0 season that declared them National Champions. One fan said, "You don't get to see it go right every week, but this season was the payoff of telling everyone we're gonna get there." And this year seems like something all too similar. So far, it seems as if, Knight Nation is back.

Since their National Championship claim in 2017, UCF has faced skepticism, criticism and with the "one-hit wonder" label no less. However, the Knights are aiming to redefine their legacy. Since the start of their football program, and their introduction to the transfer portal with the Big 12, this is UCF’s most talented roster. KJ Jefferson from Arkansas in his first UCF debut had a good 164 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns and even a rushing touchdown. RJ Harvey, in his first game of the season, started with 142 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Even Xavier Townsend, who had 84 yards in total kick returns of the night. They destroyed New Hampshire, 57-3. Blow after blow, 4th down after 4th down.

One pair of season ticket holders who have been with the program since before its opening of the Bounce House in 2010, seemed excited about the team's direction. They praised Jefferson pregame saying “He looks like the right guy for the right system.” Believing that the Knights have the potential to achieve great things alongside KJ. Two other fans also expressed the same feelings, “Everything I've heard is that he’s a great athlete, he’ll probably fit the system pretty well.” This week was proven once again when UCF lived up to the hype by winning against Sam Houston 14 to 45.

With a strong start and a talented roster, the Knights are poised to make a statement and prove that their success is more than just a fleeting moment
