Many will gather for the upcoming homecoming dance on September 21^st from 7-10pm in the SCHS gymnasium. SCHS students are excited, but some are confused with the details of homecoming.

      Just like many other school events, there is a dress code for homecoming. Students cannot wear casual clothes such as jeans or a regular T-shirt. Girls can wear any dress, including backless dresses, as long as no cleavage is shown. Ms. Neglia, a dean at SCHS, states “the dance is semi-formal the dresses cannot have any low cleavage or too short of an inseam on the dress.” Inseam is the length of the inner seam of the clothing running from the middle area to the bottom of the clothing. This means that the dress cannot be too short or show any cleavage.  

      Events such as these, have various expectations. Lane Johns, the public relations officer in student government, expresses that “students should expect a fun night filled with dancing to music and hanging out with all of their friends.” Lane, like many others, is hoping that everyone is going to have fun at homecoming. The tickets are being sold on myschoolbucks for $30 starting on September 6 to September 13. According to Ms. Neglia, “There are only 600 tickets due to the dance being held in the gym.” And there are, unfortunately, no guests allowed to the dance. Lane elaborates, “we have so many students already and a limited number of tickets, so we want our students to be priority to get in.” The SCHS student government is looking out for their students and raising the chances to get into homecoming.  

      It's crucial for students to familiarize themselves with the homecoming dress code to avoid any unexpected surprises that could lead to being sent home. Understanding the specific requirements regarding homecoming will help students make informed choices and ensure they adhere to the school's guidelines. This will not only prevent any potential embarrassment but also contribute to a positive and enjoyable homecoming experience for everyone involved. Have fun at homecoming, SCHS!
