Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Blink the Legacy is a performance hosted by City of Life Church that takes place all through the month of October and a little bit of November. It is a production that happens every two years and it is about the story of good and evil through the lens of personal tragedy and triumph by the means of actors who perform multiple acts of realistic scenarios that happen in everyday lives.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Blink has been a performance at City of Life for 25 years. Over these years, there have been a total of 150,000 attendees, including 63,271 salvations. The meaning and purpose, according to the pastor, Jeffery Smith, is ā€œ... a realistic message that represents hope in a PG 13 performance.ā€ Blink uses common real-life experiences that people may have gone through or are currently going through daily such as: teenage individuality, marriage conflicts, depression, and group

interactions. They simulate this by using comedy, horror, and include many different personalities throughout the performance to create different narratives. Providing this sort of entertainment catches many people's attention. When viewing advertisement posters for the show, it can be hard to identify what it will be about, especially if you have never participated before. Considering that the only element that is provided is a red eerie background with the name ā€œBlink the Legacyā€ displayed in a distinctive font. However, it intrigues people and makes them interested in attending.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā This production has had many lasting impacts on people. By reenacting common experiences, many can relate to the performance and in a way, put themselves in that position or scenario. Pastor Smith mentions how, ā€œ...It shows people what their life looks like, not only my life, but my friend's life as well.ā€ For instance, in Blink, the first performance is of teenagers, this age group can be commonly known to choose the rough path and donā€™t always make the right decisions. This scenario was an example of a similar situation the Pastor himself has been through and was brought to life again for this performance to represent awareness on ā€œsticking to your own beliefsā€ and not being easily influenced by others. After the performance, viewers were emotional, many learned how to deal with certain situations, and numerous have gotten baptized. Not only was the audience impacted, but so were the actors. One of the actors, Moises Hernandez, said ā€œWorking as an actor in Blink has honestly been so wholesome. All the crowd interaction is something special to see and it makes the acting experience so much better.ā€

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Many people perceived Blink in different ways. An attendee of Blink, Amber Day, stated ā€œI really enjoyed the performance, and it taught me to think about my actions and be a better person.ā€ Another attendee, Nathan Carpio, said ā€œBlink helped shine light on subjects that people could consider taboo.ā€ Blink is a learning opportunity and a representation of what the church stands for. City of Life itself is known for its welcoming environment and provides a safe space for all. Anybody is welcome to see this show and be a part of the ongoing salvations. Blink the Legacy is an entertaining and family friendly production that demonstrates peopleā€™s actions and the consequences that are given.
