On August 21st, 2026, St. Cloud High School’s football team made history: a longstanding rivalry, defined by Osceola High School’s sixteen-year winning streak, was finally broken.

The anticipated game was the first of the year — the 103ʳᵈ match between the two schools —  and, naturally, the bleachers were packed full of roaring students. For the past 15 years, the schools’ notorious rivalry had been characterized by Osceola High School’s success. In fact – though the Bulldogs had returned the opening kickoff — going into halftime, the Osceola Kowboys were in the lead, with the score at 12-15.

However, during the second half of the game, the Bulldogs began to make a comeback. By the time the fourth quarter began, St. Cloud High School had taken the lead. Their notable performance was enough to earn the win, and the game ended with a final score of 18-15. St. Cloud High School was on top.

The season opener, an inspiration for the Bulldogs, served as a boost to both the school’s record and school spirit among the student body. Since then, St. Cloud High School’s football team has scored yet another win against South Sumter, and has already planned their next contest: an upcoming game against Lake Minneola.
