Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Tensions were high this past week as many anxiously waited for the Saint Cloud Bulldogs and Osceola Kowboys to go head-to-head at the 100th matchup. As the Kowboy's were 0-5 this season, the Bulldogs (2-2) figured this could be the year that they get their first win against the Kowboys, since 2010.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Hopes were high going into this historic game. The assistant head coach, Zach Beaverson, explained that they had had a good week at practice, and players were locked in leading up to the game. The Saint Cloud Bulldogs wanted a win and were determined to get it. Saint Cloud High School Assistant Principal, Jennifer Wrona, explained that the Bulldogs were coming off a big win the week before and would use the ā€œmomentum of that winā€ to hopefully win the game. Ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The fateful moment arrived, and the game started. The Kowboys scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. With 40 seconds left in the first quarter the Bulldogs hit their first speed bump, Terrence (T.J.) Griffin, one of the wide receivers, came off the field with an injury. Luckily, it was not anything too serious and he was able to continue playing in the next quarter. Going into the second quarter the Kowboys scored another touchdown thirty seconds into the second quarter. They entered halftime 3-35. The Bulldogs still seemed hopeful entering the third quarter but as time went on, that hope started to dwindle. The game ended 3-49 with the Kowboys taking the win.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Unfortunately, the Bulldogs did not win this matchup. Assistant coach, Dylon Howes, explains that they beat themselves and, ā€œsome people just didnā€™t show up tonight.ā€ and he wasnā€™t the only one who felt that way. Eann, who plays D-Line, also felt that they couldā€™ve played better. Ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā There was an enormous difference in the attitude before and after the game, but Ian wanted to remind everyone to ā€œkeep their heads upā€ and focus on the next game. The next game coming up is a big one for our Bulldogs. The long-awaited homecoming game. Will the Saint Cloud Bulldogs defeat the Gateway Panthers?
